kdmorris was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. When he was eight years old, he took his late mother's Kodak 110 camera apart and put it back together. He learned that was a major "no-no." He is always one to dig beneath the surface to see what makes things work. More than 40 years later, with little formal training, kdmorris honed his craft by following the leaders in the photographic community through attending workshops, reading books and articles and seeking the council of other photographers. His work is on permanent display at the Museum Of The African Diaspora (MOAD) in San Fransisco CA as part of a three story mosaic. As a result, kdmorris has become respected and known for his event and studio photography, as well as well as an educator of the craft and facilitator of workshops.
